In tonight's update, Vince covers:
1) The U.S. equity market had a fairly uneventful day closing slightly lower on concerns over the potential of a government shutdown. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 97.84 points, the S&P 500 fell 4.53 points while the Nasdaq 100 closed lower by 2.23 points and the Russell 2000 finished lower by 9.93 points.
2) Gold Futures had a very active trading session but closed significantly lower losing almost 12 points. The gold futures chart is on the verge of a breakout on many different time frames and in today's video we will review several of these.
3) The steady stream of earnings releases continues. After market close, IBM announced revenue growth for the first time in 23 quarters but still reported a fourth-quarter loss of $1.05 billion. This is having a negative impact on the stock which is down over $6 per share almost 4% in after-hours trading.
