1) U.S. equities closed mostly higher today on lower than average volume led by the energy and financial sectors. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 55 points, the S&P 500 added 5 Points while the Nasdaq 100 moved up 4 points and the Russell 2000 closed higher by 7 points.
2) Gold Futures traded slightly higher today closing above its 20-period simple moving average for the first time in 3 weeks while still dealing with overhead resistance. Crude oil Futures also closed slightly higher while the U.S. dollar continued to lose ground against a basket of six other currencies.
3) NKE reported earnings after market close and beat street estimates. NKE reported EPS of $0.46 versus $0.39 expected and revenue of $8.6 billion vs $8.4 billion expected. They are trading higher in after-hours trading and look poised to move toward their all-time high of $68.19.
